'The EVE Wish list project...' by crazykinux

Thanks for the review guys! Loved the critique of the list. Was fun to hear you go through a few of them and kill them and praise them.

And let it be known that even though I critiqued your podcast, it doesn't mean I'm not a fan. I'm only trying to push to do better and bigger! I've listened to all of them, and YOUR ARE getting better!! Go figure!

I keep telling urban that. That just because someone's got a critique doesn't mean they're hating. He's just English. :)

Haven't listened yet, but I will certainly second the choice of "The Forever War" as the homework assignment.

The only downside is that the current "author's preferred edition" is proof that your editor sometimes knows best. The original edit of the book made it a timeless classic. The new edition adds in a pointless side plot that encumbers the book with a very late 1960s "fear of the future" attitude that serves only to make the story feel dated.

Oh well.

And since I have read both versions of the book, I can skip it and get back to finishing "Cryptonomicon."

I know you think the walking in stations thing is ridiculous, Urban. However, one of the two things I look very much forward to in this part of the game is gambling in stations. This and hopes of uber cool corporation office stuff is the only reason I would go in. I like the idea of poker, maybe chess in the stations at poker/gambling halls. I would like to see unique games too, EVE-universe games that ma be silly and stupid but somehow fit into the EVE Universe.

Like... pin the tail on the Minmatar? :)

If the slaves revolt in Amarr stations you could play on either side. Medical games in SOE stations.

Also, just realized they should include darts on the real life side too!

You know, I didn't think of poker, chess and other games in stations. TBH that could be pretty damn cool

Thanks for giving me food for thought dude!

'Sterling work.... but you're a little off' by Xelous
Submitted on 2007-08-30 04:25:24 CST
Morning Guys,

Long time listener, first time poster, and just wanted to start off my comment to you guys on a positive note and say, sterling work you're doing. Even with the drifts of topic you're always bubbly and lively, and for two people separated by a common language I have to commend you on the way you use one another as foils, very good.

But, I have to just bring your attention to some of the details of your show. I know, I know, details are just going to make me look like a pedantic bastard, and they're going to make you want to spit feathers at me, but I think you have a responsibility just to second check yourselves a little more.

I mean, silly little blunders are coming in, such as your comments about the Sales forum closure warnings and then retractions, yes they did that, but you guys were blithering on about contracts in game not being up to the same task, not being able to sell an item "universally", you said contracts are only for one region. You are right a sales order is for one region, you raise it in one region. But the buyers out there can see them for "All Regions"....

Little bits and bobs you just are not quite nailing are, for me, just making the pod cast annoying.... I think the only reason these little mistakes are getting my attention as they're like nails dragged over a chalk board (yes you're not allowed to say noir board no more).

So guys, please, dust off your scripts (do you have scripts?) check through these little facts you want to bring up and get this exellent PodCast "Xelous" Approved :)
