Warp Drive Active #7
Mon, 20 Aug 2007 04:10:00 GMT [download/play]

The Warp Drive Active podcast returns once again to bring you news and perky commentary on everyone's "favorite" MMO, EVE Online.

Urban is wracked with guilty about some advice he gave to his his friends at the Comutiny podcast, While Winterblink watches IAC's Utterly futile attack in 49U

Tyraxx Thorrk swipes an Aeon from Evolution. With all the bad news for BOB in the past few weeks, we wonder if BOB is loosing it.

The Goonies celebrate a glorious 14th August , We hope they had CaKe to celebrate.

The player news centre completely ignores any of the real news and publishes a propaganda piece about a bunch of nobodies.

Big changes are happening to they way you fuel a POS. Reinforced mode gets thumped by the nerf bat.

Mineral compression gets a big nerf as well. All is not lost though as CCP unveils the awesomely named Rorqual new capital class mining vessel

We wanted to do a noob guide for starting a corporation, but frankly we know nothing about how to. Thankfully Crovan is on hand to give all the details.

For homework this week Urban sets something really awsome which everyone should check out. (more is available here).

Beyond that, just the usual getting sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.

Lead out tune "Out Of Sync" by Devo.**

Enjoy the show! ** The song was chosen by a listener and Winterblink insisted. Personally I think is a prefect example why listeners shouldn't be allowed to choose the tunes

More commenting to come, but I had to say that the Urban Mongral introduction was the best so far!

By the way, this is Rackar al'Ulqua who made #4 in last week's podcast. Good job pronouncing the name!

yay devo! At least I'm not the only fan :P
so one of you likes it and one of hates it..hmm I'm noticing a trend in the way you guys

would recommending something like the beatles be any better?

or do one of you love and the other despise them?

great now I've got a reputation.

maybe I can save it by recommending Massive Attack - Teardrop?
or maybe I should quit while I'm ahead :)

really enjoy the episodes guys! I'll try to keep my wierd musical taste to myself :P
but it's a really awesome silly song!

haha, well maybe I'll see you at fanfest, if I can make this is year.

Sorry guys, but being a history geek specializing in Norse mythology....Thor didn't seem to have a horse (he did give his son Magni the horse Gullfaxi after he killed the giant Hrungnir) Thor did, however have a chariot or battle wagon pulled by two goats (Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostr).

Roqual is the name of the largest group of baleen whales. The name does come from the norse word röyrkval (furrow whale) and refers to the folds of skin running from the mouth to the mid section of the whale allowing for the mouth to expand.

Ok, now that I've pretty much assured myself of never having another girlfriend, I'm crawling back to the basement.

Good hunting guys!

Brent needs a good British accent so he can do the Monty Python inspired intro on the VW podcast as well. ;)

Chop chop Brent! Cherio!

Cryptonomicon and Snow Crash are both awesome reads. Next week's homework is reading The Diamond Age, right?
