The Warp Drive Active podcast returns once again to bring you news and perky commentary on everyone's "favorite" MMO, EVE Online.
Show 14, better late than never! Urban has moved house and hasn't ironed all the bugs out of his sound setup yet (It does get better during the course of the show though) He suffers in work from a horrible obsolete programming language.
Huge scrap in XID between BOB and Redswarm, BOB gives a pep talk to R I S E, It doesn't to have done a whole lot of good though.
In the constant madness of the North, it looks like Fallen Souls have been kicked out everywhere they used to own up there.
EVE university gets a load of war dec's from people who like killing noobs!
At the request of Wilhelm we do a noob guide to tanking. For more information check out the excellent EVE Tanking made by Nyphur.
For homework this week, Blinky chooses a bit of classic Anime Voices of a Distant Star by Makoto Shinkai.
EVETV Episode 13 is free We hope this is the start of things to come. We also like the Brightcove player a lot more than the Jalipo player.
The Sisters of EVE Fanfest passes are out! Let your spouse escape the uber geekness in the convention centre!
Beyond that, just the usual random sidetrackage, gibbering and tinfoil hattery.
Lead out tune "What a Beautiful Day" by Levellers.

Great show, guys. One thing I want to nitpick, though, is that Minnie ships don't necessarily tank shields. In my experience, it's about 50/50. Ships like the Maelstrom, Stabber and Cyclone shield tank, but the Typhoon, Rupture, and Hurricane make much better Armor tanks, especially if you plan to pvp in them, due to the loss of utility midslots that you guys mentioned. There's also the speed tank, but I understand that that's probably a bit much for a noob guide. So yeah, good show.

So the talk was from Luckyduck. Also you failed to mention that the fight in ZID allowed Goons to take the POS down from CORM/RMF and now the K-9 system is neutral with Goons having a majority in the next few days.

Figured I'd try commenting on the correct show#. :)
My industrial character happens to be a member of Eve-Uni by chance, and I just wanted to comment on your brief discussion about our recent COAD post and recent Wardecs.
There had been 3 recent Wardecs, Murder Death Kill, Phoenix Mercenaries, and Nanotards.
As far as the complaints by directors goes these constant Wardecs stop Eve University to holding classes during wartime, and any non-pvp willing or trained pilots are left stuck sitting in-station for the duration as part of a lockdown effort to prohibit 'easy' kills for the enemy.
The only time targets are engaged are in gangs or fleets with FC's that are skill university members and there's enough larger ships to lay on the DPS. Being a corp with 'noobs' this tends to mean our efforts our primarily frigate/EW swarms with a smattering of large BC/BS or Cruisers which the directors fly. (members are prohibited from flying anything above a frigate in battle, but losses are reimbursed for pvp).
If you check out the killboard you'll see the E-Uni Swarm and Gangs are more than capable of kicking butt and sending these corps running off with losses in the hundreds of millions up to a billion after war dec fees. They may get a few loners, stragglers, or a few frigates out of our swarms but ultimately they end up losing ships worth up to several hundred million.

Even if E-Uni wins these wars, just like an industrial corp, it means non-combat pilots have been doing nothing for weeks, and no classes have been held except for fleet ops to engage war dec targets. Not exactly the reason it was founded to help new players get a firm grounding in the game so they can move on to other corps and continue playing Eve (Rather than be confused and lost, and unsubscribing).
Nanotardz were rather silly demanding a billion isk, getting their arse handed to them, demanding again several hundred mil to cover their most recent "losses" from us to end the wardec, then finally after hiding out in stations only sneaking out occasionally to find 1 or 2 loners, they agreed in the COAD thread to end their wardec if they got an apology from the E-Uni Diplomat (who was it that started this war?). So they got a big post of fine print that included the word apology, just not in the meaning they wanted.
It was enough and they ended the war - but not before one of our members caught their leader in Jita undocking with a loaded indy and with an hour to go on the wardec clock.. the indy went *boom* putting total nanotardz losses for the war rather close to the billion mark after fees.

Another solid outing, it's especially nice to see Winterblink to be grateful for his spot on the show.
On a side note you are correct in that Team Fortress 2 is silly good. I've logged in to change skills this week and nothing else. All because I want to set people on fire.
