'Go Darren. Industry beckons...' by Floss Submitted on 2009-04-14 04:21:56 CST Darren good luck with the shuttles....since NPCs stopped making them they have definitely become worth shifting about.
Spent many an hour moving cows (aka Livestock) around New Eden and made a shed load of ISK back in the day doing it.
As you know it's just a case of hitting the right place at the right time.
P.S. Shuttles? wtf? hehehe........;-)

'So what does the "1" mean?' by openedge1 Submitted on 2009-04-14 13:32:32 CST That I am number one?...naw
It simply was a way to differentiate between my user name and my Company name. Openedge Computers.
The business still runs, and I am the LEADER, Godlike procrastinator of the company...so it only made sense to make me number 1.
Anyways, thanks for the spotlight...it looks like I am one of the few to continue discussing AoC, and I plan to gear up on the game a bit more, as this year looks like a fail in regards to MMO's to me..
Cheers to all.
'Too Sloooooow' by Yoh Submitted on 2009-04-14 21:53:42 CST After having gone thru a 14-day trial account in EVE, overall my opinion remains the same of the NPE as it did before with one minor gripe....... it's too freaken slow.
Before, you used to start with a fair amount of skill points, enough so that you could do something, and do it well. But now you get basically nothing..... except the x2 training, which is quite simply not enough.
If it we're x4 training, and after certain tutorial missions we're completed you got rank 3/4/5 in some skills to push you along, then I'd be very happy with it, and starting off with dick wouldn't be so bad. But at the moment, it's just too slow.

I've thought a bit about the whole Internet persona thing since I'm toying with the idea of blogging, and perhaps getting into podcasting, Then it dawned upon me that anyone with basic Google-Fu would be able to get my home address anyway, because of all the little tidbits one has managed to drop over the years, using the same callsign. This means getting a new callsign or acting like an adult: accepting responsibility for everything I do and say on-line. The last part seem the more adult way, so I'll probably get a new callsign says my wife.
Secret World:
As a gamer I see through the CGI stuff anyway (first part of the podcast discussed this). As a consumer I'd rather have them spend money on getting the game to Awsome status within a reasoble ammount of time. As a paraonid sceptic I instantly assume that everything the hype talks about is lies, or propaganda at best. Yeah, the wounds have not healed... /sob
Thanks fo the show.
'Great show once again' by KirithKodachi Submitted on 2009-04-16 19:30:56 CST Listening to it filled me with nostalgia for my podcasting days of yore (i.e. last month).
I did find it hilarious at the time that there was three Eve players there and not one of your seemed to know the rules behind how wormholes spawn and despawn correctly. But if you're not going into them often I can see how that information is not necessary to the average pilot.
For the record: Every wormhole system has at least one wormhole out of it. That wormhole may be to somewhere in known space (but it could be high, low, or null sec) or it could be to another wormhole system.
Additionally, the difficultly of the wormhole systems corresponds to the likelyhood of it linking to high sec, low sec, or null sec. I.e. shallow end wormhole systems link to high sec most often while dangerous deep end wormhole systems link to high sec most often.
It is also rumoured that the most extreme wormhole systems can only be accessed by traveling through other slightly-less-immediate-death wormhole systems but I have not confirmed that.
Cheers!
'privacy/safety' by FarSpace Submitted on 2009-04-18 05:58:14 CST the only reason I do not give out my real name on the internet is because I have a Daughter, but when she is 18 I'm gonna be allot more free, at least I do give my real name to people in e-mail
because I also want to meat people more anyways one day and get out there and maybe travel.
allthough there are allot of people with my 1st and last name.
I'm pretty sure that everyone I know on the internet is pretty cool and have good manners and all that, I honestly do not see a problem.
I wonder if people have problems with not wanting anyone to know their every movements because the web is such and easy trail to what you are doing. personaly I do not think people care what someone is doing.
Ashton kutcher has over 1,200,000 followers on twitter, so I guess he is still safe and sound right?
Anyways, I enjoy the show.
'Great shows, thanks!' by Stabs Submitted on 2009-04-23 00:13:44 CST I was pointed here from Tobold's site and have really enjoyed listening. Keep up the great work!
'Safety' by Wilhelm2451 Submitted on 2009-04-23 23:01:41 CST @FarSpace - Well, if you mess around with Ashton Kutcher then Demi Moore kick your ass. Don't get in her way. He's safe as long as she is around. Have you got similar backup?
'Personal Space' by Oakstout Submitted on 2009-05-01 14:41:47 CST It's a toss up when it comes to keeping your identity secret. I have a facebook page with my actual name, but I also Twitter and blog using my alias. I also have real pictures of me on my blog, so, anyone that really wanted to locate and find me in RL they probably could given any amount of resources. So, if someone wants to find out who you are, they'll find out.
I mean, people do tell their family members and RL friends that they blog right? So what is to prevent one of them from revealing the secret identity. No one is really safe when it comes to the internet and identities.
