The Warpath Episode 7: Interior Design by Ginsu
Sat, 29 Nov 2008 23:16:00 GMT [download/play]

After some FTP issues and general incompetence on Phillip's part when it comes to newfangled interwebs, The Warpath returns in time for leftover turkey sandwiches.

This week, the guys discuss the (now-delayed) class balance patch, as well as some of the smaller changes that were brought in as a precursor.

This week's Warhammer Army profile focuses on the Dark Elves, in all their excessively pointy glory.

We have our first audio submission!  Listen and be amazed as we have a real live Order player discuss the Engineer!

Because Mythic buffed BW's damage isntead of giving them the debuff they needed. Try playing end game sometime as any melee class and you'll see just what this game has boiled down too. Class balance is important because people will leave the game if one side plays a lot of the OP classes and the class they want to play is useless in ORvR. Count how many BW's are in T4 scenarios sometime and then think to yourself why there are so many of them? Very similar to everyone playing the ToS in AoC, it killed that game. The game is turning into rangehammer.

It's only T1 but is a perfect example of what Warhammer has turned into

In order words, WAR is about organized teamwork. Order could do the exact same thing if they wanted do. Nothing is stopping people from applying the principle in most MMOs. This is, after all, massively multiplayer.

yes they could but it works 150% with ranged DPS and healers. Of course that might be why melee classes die continually in T4 ORvR and explains why you see 6 BW's in every serpents scenario. Playing a melee class in this game in any large scale fight is fruitless and aggravating. Even when playing a WE who runs to the back to kill the BW at best can break even because he dies trying to get back to his line.

If you want to talk about overpowered, a WE is one of the most overpowered characters in the game. If you build your character correctly you end up with a crit machine. My main is a Witch Hunter and I get beaten by Witch Elves who are 10 levels below me. If you play the lone assassin style, you will get beaten down, as you should. At T4, you need to play closer to your group or go after the healers only. This is a team game and sometimes your death helps the overall battle for your side. Sorry to hijack the podcast thread.

This comment more has to do with the episode where warpath made a WoW rant.

Why would any one take an offense to an opposing opinion of a video game? Has it come to this? Must we choose our words carefully as to not offend the followers of certain mmo's?

I'll come out and say it, I hate WoW. I think the lore is terrible, the graphics are terrible, and the pvp is slightly below terrible.

You'll get no apology from me (not sure why Stephen and Philip gave one) so you'll just have to put up with it. Many people here on the boards called the warpath out on being immature and negative. You can be mature and critical at the same time. And I think warpath was just that; so all you bleeding hearts out there that have some kind of perverted psychological attachement to an mmo will need to toughen up a bit.

I played WoW for a number of years, and found myself addicted but not actually enjoying it. I've been playing WAR for a short time. I'm not addicted yet enjoy the small amount of time I play. I don't need to level 80 times over to get into pvp thats worth while. Brilliant game.

Leave wow, it sucks, get your moneys worth on WAR.
