'Watchmen NO! YES!' by Everan Submitted on 2009-03-18 14:49:01 CST I am not sure if i like it or not i still can not figure it out :s i think i felt let down, but your shown makes me want to see it again. i hope the Graphic novel is a better! i will get it one day, or should i?
'\o/' by FarSpace Submitted on 2009-03-18 17:59:38 CST I never heard of the Watchmen before the movie so that's one good thing. Just think of the Watchmen literature and movies as compliments of each other. But I guess you do already I'm sure. I'm just sayin'
I like the LotRO books a lot and I like the movies too, the movies were done really well imo, some times making parts of the original books even better and visa versa so it all good with LotR with the books and movies imo. I would still have to settle for the books on a dessert island though.
btw I will love to see the DVD for watchmen with all the extras, I'm sure it will explain a lot to me too.You all were doing pretty well and it seemed like it was pretty fun in the IMAX though. but by then I might have some huge HDTV, who knows. I guess it will be on Blue ray. looking forword to it.
'"Im not locked in here with you..." YAAAAAAY!' by xBevisx Submitted on 2009-03-24 17:22:52 CST When I was watching the film, every now and then I lost focus and could'nt stop thinking "Do I like this film because its good or because I love the book and just want it to be good so badly, no matter what". A couple of times it was a bit distracting.
I seen it more than once now though and I really do believe it is a great film. It was also interesting watching it with people that havent read the book as well, I hope they all go on to enjoy the book, though the space squid may be harder to digest now? I dont know? Opinions?
When talking about the film in the pub afterwards though, I had mentioned that it had cleared up some parts of the that maybe were a bit long winded in the book, as if the film had bullet points breaking things down and making them easier. Although that makes me worry if I have too much of a short attention span :)
Also would be interesting how many people this will influence to go back and give the book another read after watching the film.
'Can't think of anything to put here' by VanSturm Submitted on 2009-03-25 20:30:37 CST Just watched Watchmen myself. I first read the book 14 years ago, (was on holiday, and borrowed it from the Library). I enjoyed it so much I went and bought myself a copy. When the film was imminent, I tried to find my copy, but it appears that my parents have thrown it out :(
I thoroughly enjoyed the film, and I suspect that finances allowing, I'll go rebuy the book just so I can read it again. I'll be buying the DVD too when it comes out.
My girlfriend however found the whole thing incredibly boring. Guess it make sup for being draggged along to Gothica :P

'A film for fans or for everyone?' by shuttler Submitted on 2009-03-31 07:33:30 CST I'm still undecided wether it is a film or everyone. I loved it and even more after my second viewing.
My wife who never reads comics thought it was great, she thought it was a good mix of action and interesting plot and an alternative look at the history of america.
Someone else I told to go see it simply said 'that was a load of shit"
I know it isnt for everyone, but I am sure if more people knew up front it wasn't a 'super-hero' movie they would enjoy it more. If you go in expected spiderman or ironman style movies you will be VERY disappointed.
