'About Champions' by McDonagh Submitted on 2009-02-11 02:55:17 CST I have to disagree with the city only bit for superhero games. Although it is the most familiar setting for superheroes, this is an MMO and you will be spending a lot of time in certain areas while leveling/socializing/farming*. Spending the whole span of the game in a city, especially when the trend for higher level areas is to make them look grittier and unpleasant, grates on me. I don't mind the city setting in particular, but when you spend so much time in and out of warehouses, labs, and sewers, it just gets old. Having diverse environments greatly increases my ability at least to keep playing (and paying).
*not sure about the farming
PS. John, we need to talk sometime and catch up :P (NO twitter does not count, sorry)
'What we all want...' by shuttler Submitted on 2009-02-13 08:19:34 CST Is a hollowed out Volcano lair.
A city can be done in a way that isn't boring. Look at the cities around the world. They all have very different looks and open spaces and warehouse districts, docks, Chinatown, museums and what not. The list is endless for design possibilities.
'Horaaaaah for the tones.' by MrMikame Submitted on 2009-02-16 10:15:10 CST Hey! Stephen sounds different today.
I just watched the new season of Topgear (totally off topic but) how much he sounds like James May, hee hee its a little creepy, or maybe thats the mental image i get.
Funny thing about stephens cleavage comment, I played Lost Planet a month or so ago - and one of the female characters has a magic zipper - well lets say it workes like this - in the cutscenes there will be one shot where the top is fully zipped up to th neck then WOOPS suddenly its unzipped in the nexed scene, weird. lol
Anyhow lol Awsome Podcast as allways - Dig those Vanhemlock guys.
P.S john can you please tell me What the into comes from is driving me mad also.
