John gives a shout-out to our fellow VirginWorlds podcasts - Van Hemlock, Massively Speaking, Spouse Aggroand new kid on the block, Through the Aftermath (which John may or may not be appearing on).
We get a bit off-topic when Stephen wants to know what 'Books' are in The Lord of the Rings Online, and John feels obliged to explain. However! We're soon back to talking about City of Heroes - did you know there's a Double XP Weekend looming??
John's getting excited about DC Universe Online, but we can't agree on exactly how it's going to work - or whether it's going to be any good. Three classes in one? Stances? It's all very confusing.
That naturally leads to the age-old question - can any MMO work on a console? Maybe... whatever happens, Stephen thinks DCUO's going to get complained about, and John is either getting old or just likes the new shiny consoles.
Next, John and Matt both want to rave about the Cartoon Network FusionFall MMO, which you could be playing right now! In your browser! Sadly coverage of FusionFall has generated some shortsighted comments from the MMO community, which we can't help but mention.
Matt got around to watching The League, and we want you to watch it too! Not least because we're going to get director/writer Kyle Higgins on the show, so send your questions in to podcast AT yellowspandex.com
John also has a confession to make: he's become a TABLETOP ROLEPLAYER. Not to be confused with the live-action breed.
John doesn't want to talk about Richard Garriott. Stephen would prefer to talk about Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Punisher: War Zone, but frankly, all of us would prefer to talk about Watchmen. Are you as excited as us yet? If not, check out the updated movie site and the New Frontiersman too. See if you get the same reaction as John.
Finally, Smallville showcases the Legion of Superheroes, which leads to another confession from John. It's a true confessions show!

The story about Shuttler scolding Matt & his Mom hearing it through the speakers, was classic. He-he-he I loved it.

Stephen bemoaned the fact that he initially couldn't pick-up what the hell was going on with Smallville when he jumped in to the series for the Geoff Johns' episode. How does this compare to comic books these days? Is it still possible to jump in to comics at any point and have a self-contained story which is part of an overall story arc, or are the stories so intricate and intertwined, with possible crossovers on top, that most beginners are going to be feeling "what the hell is going on" unless they take the time to read back story comics solidly for a year? In essence, have comics become more or less accessible with time, or are they the same as they ever were?
Keep up the good work!

It's a good point often people are a little put of by big complicated arcs. I think we will cover this in the next episode.

It's good to hear Matt on a quality mic, I can hear him much clearer. Hey, did you guys realize he's British? I could never tell before! ;)
Great episode, guys. I always learn so much on these, since I'm a comic noob.

Just when I thought it was safe to walk past a comic store......Dame you all!!! :)
Monsterpocalypse is great fun, but John you are so wrong about clone wars! Dame that was bad, please some one stop Lucas from destroying Star Wars

I think it's a great spin off movie/series.
It's not mean to be dark and twisted. It;s a fun jaunt through the clone wars era and tells fun tales along the way with charcters we love, cool space ships, aliens and lightsaber battles.
If you want darker grittier SW then go check out some of the fantastic comics like KOTOR or Force Unleashed.
I do however agree more can be done with the franchise, a Han Solo TV series late night on Sci-Fi is the answer surely?
Cheers for the nice feedback though and glad we got you struggling to past the comic store ;)
