“…steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain —that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy.” - Wikipedia
Steampunk – for those of you who don’t know what it is you can see a discussion here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk). Realizing there are many of you out there for whom words like “steampunk” don’t stir thoughts of fantasy another one got my blood stirring these past weeks…
Roadtrip (yes we know it's supposed to be TWO words but we LIKE it this way)
Our regular listeners may have wondered where we have been these past few weeks. Where we have been is giving our regular listeners a chance to be our regular viewers – and thereby hangs a tale - and our first video podcast. Join us for coverage of the World Steam Expo.

We have had a request for a "light" version of the show for countries like Australia. Over the weekend I will see what I can come up with in different formats and sizes. This particular show doesn't lend itself well to audio only podcasts but we will see to it that any future video podcasts will (or have audio only versions available).
Another note is that I have noticed that Google Chrome doesn't seem to do well with the podcast but Internet explorer with quickplay works just fine.

'Steampunk lite' by Julie

We have had requests from Australia where some folks have serious bandwidth limitations on their service for a "lite" version of the show. We have managed, by reducing the size of the image drastically and the quality of the image to reduce the size of "steam special lite" to a wmv file of only 55megs. We will post it later today on our no prisoners no mercy site.

We're glad you enjoyed the show. Unfortunately the size of the file has us banging our head up against the bandwidth. Add to that our inability to get the show archived early for whatever reason and we were forced to archive it ourselves in order to post show 87 and 88 by the end of the week.
