No Prisoners, No Mercy Host: Julie Whitefeather & Frances Kosac There comes a time, friends, when your favorite MMO ceases to sparkle, when even new videogames lose their luster, and the computer room becomes a prison; and all that is left are two gamers (who happen to be nuns) with a very large axe to grind. Come join Julie Whitefeather and Frances Kosac as they go to War - and along the way discuss the events of the week in the MMO industry.

No Prisoners, No Mercy - Show 45Mon, 28 Sep 2009 02:04:00 GMT [download/play]
Welcome to Show Number 45!
This week we talk about Gamers (the movie not mmos) and Games (mmo
news not the movie). We also had a chance to sit down with the
founder of "The Artist Formerly known as Giskard" about what's
happening in the world of multiplayer games. At the end of the show
(albeit briefly), NCSoft defecates into an orafice that was meant for
that purpose.
'Mythic.' by DestroyerDestroyer Submitted on 2009-10-02 03:20:51 CST Paul Barnett could sell water to fish. When i hear him talk, i just can't help but laugh. He can be quite funny but, also beat's around the bush. And will never truely go into why Warhammer is the way it is. He rather blame the player's for why Warhammer is the way it is... cause they whine to much.
The Hickman example, just go's to show you how out of touch they are with the playerbase. Player's problem's with the game have been expressed million's of time's since beta. Yet peoples cries keep falling apon Mythic's deaf ears. In return we are given content that's not needed, or we get bandaid fixes that truely don't offer a real term solution.
I loved Warhammer i played it since the beta day's until i quit, just a couple day's ago. Why? I got pushed to a point, where i couldn't bring myself to pay for Warhammer anymore. Why? Because they've shown time and time again.. they don't work with their player's, and hardly respect their player's.

'Mythic' by Token Submitted on 2009-10-07 15:39:34 CST Hi Sisters
I've been going back and listening to the earlier shows I missed, they are all good, particularly the Warhammer stuff. I've been reflecting on my own experiences with the game over the summer.
Constant server issues drove me from the game unfortunately, mostly lag. Unnecessary regions splitting me up from friends, crappy tech support and confusing class balance that changes radically every tier/patch. I went on about 10-15 keep raids and every single one failed, there were either no tanks or no healers online all of the time so I never got to take a keep. I re-rolled one class after another, got several into the 30's but every time I got really fed up of the pigeon-holing. The Warrior Priest was not fun, the Shadow Warrior was amazing in Tier 1 then complete crap afterwards, the list goes on. My good friend still plays and even has a Statue declaring him the highest renown achiever of all time, not bad for 2 months work.
'we agree' by Julie Submitted on 2009-10-07 15:52:14 CST Thanks for the comments the both of you. We here at No Prisoners, No Mercy (and that is the "my co-host and I we - not the royal we) tend to agree with both of you. Fran and I discussed the issue for some time and finally closed the last of our Warhammer Online accounts, seeing no reason to continue to throw $15.00 per month down the proverbial "crapper." If at some point in the future things change for the better, and it doesn't put a dent in our entertainment budget, we might reconsider going back. But mark my words things will have to change. Mythic will have to start talking with, not at, the community.
As to the next show it is nearly done - we only have to record the "endcap" and it will be uploaded later today. The next show will feature Giskard who we will chat with about multiplayer games, including the upcoming Dragon Age Origins (unfortunately we have no way of playing it yet). We will also have the first in a series of interviews with Dr. Richard Bartle.
See you soon
