I would love to see a game where you get off your mount and it stays in the location that you left it.
Vanguard's boat system was similiar to this. A player could leave their boat parked in the harbor for however long they wanted, but it became a HUGE problem when everyone left their boat in the harbo. It made performance slip, not to mention tons of people were in the harbor doing other various tasks.
It's one of those things that sounds great in theory, but when actually placed in the world isn't such a great idea.
I think there has to be some barrier of disbelief when it comes to fantasy MMOs because you can't have everything realisticly work as it does IRL.
