'Excited to be a kid again' by mikejl Submitted on 2009-03-12 14:16:36 CST My youngest daughter (11) and I also are very excited to jump into Free Realms. I may also get my oldest (16) to play with us.
I think we (grow up MMOs hardcore WTF pwners) look at Free Realms and go .. "it's a kids game." However part of the reason I like to play games is to fell like a kid again. No different then when I use to play Legos on the floor with my kids when they were younger.
Great podcast.
Thanks
Mike
'offline training' by Burro Submitted on 2009-03-13 00:25:11 CST Offline training is when you subscription expires on say the 1st, so you set Battleship lvl 5 to train right before your subscription ends, then when you sign back up 30 days later you have Battleship lvl 5. That they stopped, so an inactive subscription stops training skills.
'Taking over!' by Jmo Submitted on 2009-03-13 07:59:41 CST Shawn and Jonathan are taking over the PodCast-o-Sphere! Duck and cover, it's the apocalypse!

'\o/ Thank you Shawn for explaining the quest tracker in LotRO' by FarSpace Submitted on 2009-03-13 08:18:16 CST It helps dispel some of my fears about it.
I had a problem with what it might be, I hate the GPS tracking to quest objectives pretty much every mmo has except for LotRO. In other mmo's It just took the immersion out of it for me.
Although the quest text in other mmo's is so bad you actually have no choice but to have an exact GPS type quest tracker.
In LotRO the quest text tells you ware to go pretty well, so I guess there were some people who just don't want to read the text.
I would think turbine would not make this mistake with GPSing the quests TOO much. And I hope they don't take away the detail in the future quest text but I'm sure the wouldn't do that.
'once again Massively shows off their pandering skills' by bigredjeff Submitted on 2009-03-16 18:45:57 CST Massively does it embarrass u? the way u seem suck up to everthing with money behide it? look at your numbers. i imagine VW and Massively have hit a glass ceiling. brake out of the mold guys. give me a reason to look forward to your next show. i can read/listen to everything you just put out on anyother gaming web site. is VW doomed to become a watered down version on fanfair for life?
i dont want to sound like a troll so i will say something positive. excellent production value as always. i that regard MassiveThumbsUp!
'\o/' by FarSpace Submitted on 2009-03-18 17:42:31 CST I like the point of view massively gives so that's one of the reasons I listen. they just do it with a cool personality and the right info that's needed and with out getting into needles ranter about something untill it desurves it :) I haven't really seen anything else on any other site because I usually end up turning it off because other places just aren't as cool :) or done with the extra effort.
It looks like LotRO is still good to go in my book, the quest track system or whatever is NOT GPS, it's more like if you did not trust the directions you got from a quest giver and asked them to give you another point of view on paper. I went ahead and turned it off because it was taking me out of my immersion but you can click it on for a second when you look at the map in case you want a different point of view for the fun of it or whatever not to say it is not useful because it seems to be quite useful to may people so good., so it's all cool.
So yeah the new parts of LotRO's quest tracking are good not too much and not too little.
I can still see some one reading the text and just useing the tracker and finishing at the same time.
