Van Hemlock Episode 18Tue, 16 Sep 2008 08:47:00 GMT [download/play]
We return with more heckling of news and another look at what we've been playing, which takes a decidedly retro turn as Van Hemlock continues to catch up with the last generation of consoles.

'Coloquialisms' by Mashidin Submitted on 2008-09-17 14:07:00 CST Brilliant show, gents! I especially liked seeing another lover of the Dominator class. It really is a special archtype and rather maligned in the earlier days of CoV. You're almost making me want to have another go at it but the WAR-trix has me. I'd be curious what you actually think of the PvP zones in there if you've tried them, I mean.
On a side note, I have no idea how you English folk are managing to get your panties in a "wad". In America we only have panties available in the "bunched" and unbunched variety. None of this "wad" non-sense. Do try to get your quaint red-neck sayin's right ,please.

have to pop a small ad here:

'Runescapes figures!' by shuttler Submitted on 2008-09-18 12:53:42 CST Great show, but I am curious about runescape and is it even comparible to other MMOG's
The reason I wonder is that as part of my job I come in to contact with tons of home computer users. I recall one incident where I was urgently summoned to a users home to fix his PC because he 'couldn't log on to his game'.
His game was Runescape and I remember looking at it thinking it looked awful, so I asked him why he liked it so much and he told me how it was 'mazin' and that you could 'talk to other people'. I went on to tell him I was playing Tabula Rasa at the time and had played lots of MMO's such as WoW and EQ2 trying to strike up conversation. He said he had never heard of WoW or an MMO and it was at this point I wondered if runescape has an entirely different market share.
Just thought I'd share that one with you.
'*gasp*' by mchris Submitted on 2008-09-19 23:23:34 CST Did VH just 'fess up to running a private WoW server?! I'm sure that's gotta be against the TOS. You badass.
'Numbers' by Toerag Submitted on 2008-12-20 10:21:58 CST 500,000/100 (that is, 1%) = 5,000, not 50,000!!!
It's been bugging me ever since I first heard it, and I have finally got it off my chest. I can at last breathe easily.
