'RMT,pros&cons and verthing else and stuff :)' by FarSpace Submitted on 2008-12-15 17:34:04 CST I think as long as the items you can buy RMT are no trade items then it can be ok for the economy of the game still,
If you get those same items with out RMT by playing the game then those can be marked tradable.
In simpler terms
RMT items = no trade
and those same items got by playing the game = tradable
Then the economy might be ok.
Homework Answer section:
Leala, can we be good refrigerated animal blood drinking vampires too? And they hunt regular blood sucking vampires? Like good vampires in the vampire nation either covert or sneaking around.
Beau, I like how your game is survivalist game, and perma death seems ok because it is not like you have to die completely 5 times a day just to show something is hard or whatever, I mean it's like getting sick or injured is pretty interesting too. Right? One time a wise old friend of mine told me, "Do you think it's so easy too die?" but then still having death is of course good to then. Just not having to be so easy to die but easy enough to get injured etc... and have to deal with that.
I went to about 5 different websites and put it all together coming up with this mish mash :) but please people, I want to see more people then just me come up with some answers on what pros and cons is. It's a fun game but I don't want to be the only one who gives and answer. Got it? lol.
English pros and cons is from Latin Pro et contra
Contra meaning On the contrary or against
Pros meaning In favor of or Positive?
In Favor of and Against or the good and the bad.
Maybe? I guess this is close but I'm thinking there is more to it? Please others help out cuz it is fun :)
P.S. how do they say it? What will the payments to play be? RMT? :) hahaha, ok I know that is in another category to talk about. :)
Btw D&D sounds pretty cool now a days, I think I finally got over the wanting of some huge world to sandbox in, it is how you play and D&D online I guess gives that opportunity. I keep hearing LOTRO and Vanguard are or have been getting better all the time too. If I play a fantasy game it will between those games and Beau is giving me confidence to try them out in the near future here.
P.S.S. I don't mean to be crazy long with my comments or anything but it's ok right? I mean that is one of the things virginworlds is about right? Community and stuff, so please people who have not posted before don't be shy. I know I'm a shy person but Brent and everyone around VW are really nice people.
P.S.S.S. the intro was pretty funny and even funnier because it was a switch with the Wife on the moo not getting off, hehehe, "sure, whatever..." lol.
P.S.S.S.S. I won't give it away, but That was funny what you said about me on virginworlds, hahaha. nice ompliment too :)
'Lotro = Good' by Meithar Submitted on 2008-12-16 07:01:00 CST LOTRO has done nothing but improve over time (it was great to begin with), and I have not once regretted my decision to opt for the Lifetime Membership. The addition of the Mines of Moria and the Legendary Items really adds new depth and story-telling to the game. The Epic Book quests are some of the most fun quests, full of story and adventure, that I have encountered in an MMO to date.
I hope you two like LOTRO when you give it a whirl. If you happen to land on the Elendilmir server, give Huralagos a shout and I will make myself available to show you around and help with quests. (Of course a message in the mail to keep inline with the immersion project will work as well).
Take care and keep on gaming!
'sweet show' by welshtroll Submitted on 2008-12-16 20:32:31 CST Hello both, I am enjoying this new format, quick paced but with good defined sections.
I find your ideas for your "If we build it, would they come?" section has got me thinking about how my ideal game would be constructed. Awful lot of planning needed hehe.

I have been walking dogs all day in freezing cold so you won't mind if I take a moment to read through em all better. hehe

'@ Beau' by Jmo Submitted on 2008-12-17 04:04:59 CST I feel your hurt with the weather. Two days ago was 50 degrees, yesterday was freezing cold, and it's been snowing most of the day today. ugh
Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line and say that both your shows have somehow slipped past me until today, and I'm sorry they have. I loved the show. You guys work very well together (which is good, considering you're married. =p ). I will be checking out "Epic Dolls" tonight, which I'm sure will be great as well.
Keep up the good work! Another Podcast added to my itunes!

'old "VoV" listener, love the new show!' by JamesTaylor Submitted on 2008-12-20 05:40:56 CST Great show and clever name. Inspired me to get the DDO trial, as I'm doing a similar write-up on my blog to Trial By Fire, where I try random MMOs out and give impressions. What server are you on in DDO by the way?
Anyways, I almost agree 100% with both of you on RMT. I blogged about it and have gone back and forth with forum-goers on random boards about it, but I just find it sad how there is such a negative stigma around RMT, which is mainly just surrounded by ignorance of what RMT really means for a game and the genre.
