Funny thing, love.
We recorded this on our 11th anniversary, and yet we don't talk much about ourselves on it. As a quick back-story, I met Leala for the first time when I stumbled after my friend Lindey in the local hangout, a bowling alley turned live music venue called "66 Bowl."She sat down next to Leala (a friend of Lindey's) and then I sat down across from Leala.
At the time, the place would be filled with people every weekend, hundreds packed ear-lobe to ear-lobe. My band would play there all the time, and by the time that night happened I had seen my share of ladies at the bowl.
But something about Leala caught my eye...could have been the fact that she was shorter than me, or that she matched the type of girl that I always liked, or maybe because Chalrie Brown always had a thing for the "cute little red haired girl" and so did I. In fact, when typing in the names for the three of us to bowl a game or two, I typed "cute lil read haired" for her name. She didn't catch it.
Fast forward to months later, and I would be sick with love, making art about Leala, thinking about her...I was in trouble.
Fast forward to 11 years later, and here we are, recording a show about being a nerdy couple. We also write, make art...basically we live in a world filled with whatever we want. And we aren't stopping now. In fact, we are just getting started.
So here's to all the funny little couples out there: keep it up. Stay true to what you are, and remember how lucky you are if you are happy.
The songs on todays show start off with Katie Melua singing "9 million bicycles." Follwed up by some funny Elmo poop song, then closing out the show with Carlo Buti.
All the contact info is in the show. So listen and contact. International listeners, let me know who you are!
