This week the MMOG Nation Broadcast is pretty darned navel-gazing. Join
Michael and the rest of the Shortiez guild for an in-depth examination
of the game EverQuest 2. We discuss, at great length, everything from
our classes to leveling areas, to design ... it's the longest MNB by
far, clocking in at almost an hour. Promise this won't become a regular
thing. Michael, Katie, Warty, and Brian are the Shortiez, and they've
got two years of experience playing the game and plenty to kvetch
about.
What about your experiences playing EQ2? We're total newbs, right? Let us know why!
'More of Katie is required' by 007deadlysins Submitted on 2008-07-25 09:17:28 CST A really good show, Mike. I liked the focus on your guildmates and how you are all playing EQ2 together. Never played EQ2 or WOW but I am always interested in hearing other people's experience in these games. Make sure you keep us informed on what games you guys play next and you need more Katie in your podcast. When she shut you down with, "Ok, that's enough dear" as you started into your man crush of Van Hemlock was hilarious.
'A game sugestion' by TranquilAbyss Submitted on 2008-07-26 11:17:22 CST If you want to try a pirate game try Voyage Century. I haven't played any others sailing games but I am under the impression that its game play is similar to the others. It is also is a free MMO. It has good graphics, you can do a lot of exploring, ships battles can be quite fun, and there are some cool accessories options. I thought it had some balancing issues with upgrading to the next ships class, but I would say put this on the top of you list of games to try. I would like to hear what you think about it. The format of this show was really good and I hope to hear more in the future.
'Loved this show' by FarSpace Submitted on 2008-07-27 00:48:18 CST I played EQ II for a while, great game but I just could not take Fantasy any more not EQ II's fault.
So now I play Tabula Rasa and EVE
But really I think it would be awesome if you guys did trials of every non fantasy game out there. it will be so awesome to hear you all talk about them.
Don't pass up EVE, I know it can be scary but it is hugely social game, and it would be funny to hear what you guys experienced playing it if only for the trial. And you do not have to do any particular path at all and one of you could be a trader or what ever, and remember to join EVE University together in the beginning if you decide to keep playing.
Tabula Rasa has been getting much more refined lately, great community and fun people too,
and CoH has always been awesome but then not sure if you all would be into that much fighting.
Either way do it, go on a huge trial playing thing and tell us about it, that would be so cool :)
