Oh My God Real Life Podcast #28Sun, 2 Aug 2009 16:58:00 GMT [download/play]
Jenna and Shawn return after their summer vacation to bring
you OMGRL episode 28. In this episode, we talk about what we've been up
to and answer 3 emails:
- Darasimi writes in to give us an update on his friend-finding mission and how we were right! We love to hear that.
- Jim writes in to ask if it's ok to hate MMOs but still stay on Vent to talk to his friends. - Braden writes in to ask us what he should do about his alphabet of chicks.
If you'd like to have your email read on the show, send it along to "show" at omg-rl.com. As always, we promise to be obnoxious, unfunny and pronounce every typo verbatim.
The theme songs for OMG-RL are "Real Life Drama" by Rackjaw and "Anywhere but Here" by Behavior. Login to post a comment
'Welcome Back!' by robg Submitted on 2009-08-03 14:32:22 CST It has been too long. It is great to have the show back. Congrats on the girlfriend, Jenna!
'Welcome back!' by Luper Submitted on 2009-08-06 19:31:38 CST It is nice to have you all back. Congrats on the relationship and not going back into the closet. =P Also, congrats to Shawn! Everyone needs to work out more; maybe you can shed some light on how that’s going in the future. I, myself, have been trying to do some working out. I started joining a soccer team sponsored by the company I work for. It’s kept me on track, especially since I feel like I HAVE to go, so I don’t let people down.
Be careful about the Facebook, Myspace, etc stuff with your kids. It’s not necessarily scary, but if you don’t keep track of your kids, it can get scary. I don’t think being strict is really what a parent needs to do, but more so just watching out for them. What I mean by this is that you can keep track of what your kid is doing without being strict and annoying them constantly.
I saw Bruno and I’m not a huge fan. That type of humor isn’t really my shindig. Of course, there were parts that were funny and I did understand the meaning behind the movie, but it’s just not the type of humor I’m into. I put my hand over my mouth so many times while watching it. Lol. I went with my best friend because he wanted to see it... it was a bit awkward. =P
I’ve only walked out of a movie when the movie screen was all messed up, but they gave us our money back. I’m not a huge T.V. or movie person, so I won’t go into a deep movie rant. Sorry, Jenna. I do love books though! =) “Stuff You Should Know”, eh? I’ll check it out.
I don’t think it’s rude to want to hang out with your guildies, even though you don’t like playing anymore. Although, if they are grouping and doing something, you maybe be distracting them. If they don’t appreciate your friendship, I’m sure you could find another group of friends who want to just hang out and talk.
I’m always willing to come back and hang out with you guys Jenna and Shawn.
'To Braden's Email' by Luper Submitted on 2009-08-06 19:32:05 CST Well, I had lots of family hardships and my boyfriend was always there for me. We’ve been dating since we were sophomores in High School. I never got him down though. That’s a horrible thing to do. It was more so he got me so cheery, I didn’t worry about my own problems.
As far as Braden’s situation, what Jenna says is true. The girl will be upset no matter what. Getting dumped sucks, and it doesn’t matter how you do it, but I would deff say you should break up with her in person. The reasons Jenna said were good- saying you live far away and that you’re young are both good options.
I just want to put this out there though... if the girl that is depressed is someone you really care about, staying with her isn’t a bad thing, but you should get her help. I know one of my friends wishes he could get back with a girl he was with a long time ago. He left her because she kind of went psycho. Instead of getting her help, he left her. Now, she’s a great person with a level head. She ended up getting help via another friend.
