Oh My God Real Life Podcast #21Fri, 24 Oct 2008 20:01:00 GMT [download/play]
In this 21st episode of OMG-RL, Jenna and Shawn read through 5 wonderful emails:
-
Strategist is having problems with his family and friends thinking
gaming is immature. He's totally asking the wrong people about this.
- Horatio Gomez is curious about our opinions on aliens and the supernatural - Farspace sends us 2 emails with a peculiar problem about the craziness of significant others, live from his mother's basement! - AC is concerned about the dating scene after a divorce, while Shawn discusses his experiences with wild orgy dating websites.
- And finally at the end of the show, we play an audio comment from Random Time calling Jenna a noob.
Thanks
to everyone for the emails this time around! It was great to get so
many so quickly. Join us on our new networking tool websites with our Facebook group (you can also do a search for Oh My God Real Life on there) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/OMGRL) to keep abreast of our latest developments, and to hear about when Shawn takes a shower. Not with Jenna.
Join us for our exciting first LIVE show on November 5th at 7pm EST. You can find the show here on Ustream (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/oh-my-god-real-life),
and watch us on Twitter if there are any changes to this date. Of
course if you can't make it for this show, we'll have the recorded
version later in the podcast feed as usual. Make sure to look around
the Ustream site because it has many amazing features like chat room,
RSS feed, and soon-to-be archive of our live shows all in one spot.
Although the site is made for video streams, we will only be doing
audio :)
If you'd like to have your email read on the show, send it along to show at omg-rl.com. As always, we promise to be obnoxious, unfunny and pronounce every typo verbatim.
The theme songs for OMG-RL are "Real Life Drama" by Rackjaw and "Anywhere but Here" by Behavior. Login to post a comment
'To Strategist' by Blacktop Submitted on 2008-10-25 15:38:43 CST Hey Shawn, Jenna,
just to let you know that you got European listeners, well at least one here
I'm from Holland (The Netherlands),
booo on your remarks :P
I like to comment on Strategist.
I'm 31 years old but I use to have this exact same problem when I was younger, the worst thing that stressed me out was the "older" family/friends that didn't take my opinion seriously. I like gaming, I always did and I probably always will.
(a little off topic but) I have a strong opinion about marriage and having children, I dont see the need to have kids, that was back in the day en I still feel the same way about it
but remarks like "oh you will soon grow out of it, you will see " or " you will talk different in a few years " was really annoying. But just now those people starting to take me seriously, or they just gave up hope :P
only tip I can give you is, be who you want to be. There is no age that tells ppl to stop gaming, you maybe heard on the news, the average age of a gamer is rapidly climbing. The young folks that started gaming way back is still gaming and still enjoying it. There is no template that tells you what to do on what age or time line
ok, I hope this is of any use to ya
