'Show' by Kami Submitted on 2007-01-28 18:50:43 CST is ANYONE, and i mean ANYONE, disapointed about losing Carpe Diem!?
Nice Bevis and Butthead impression. And great show.
Jenny sounds like she's gonna enjoy SL, but to be honest i cant see why. It is after all a glorified chat room. If she likes EVE, i think that she wont enjoy SL. i cant think of any reason for this, but it seems like the usual Mindset.
'Is EVE deep?' by scytale2 Submitted on 2007-01-28 19:38:15 CST A few more nice nuggets from Jenny - I felt too that what was I creating an avatar for? I also felt like giving up through falling asleep in the tutorial. But is EVE really deep?
Er no it's not.
The only reason you don't know what to do when you have completed the tutorial is that there isn't anything new to do - it's just more of the same, just like Ryzom post tutorial island:
Mine
Trade
PvP/Combat
Skill learning all link to the top three.
Perhaps someone can tell me how this is deep...
After a while every asteroid looks the same, as does every new star system. Initially looks spicy, but then over time you kind of get used to the spice.
Persistent Worlds - it's a shame about their demise. ICarpe Diem is the only game where they seemed to really care about your views and feedback. I actually apologised to them for saying how bad it was. They seemed a really professional bunch, but burnt their fingers through lack of experience in the genre, I would suggest.
It is worth thinking, though, is there a fast buck to be made in MMOs? - probably not...although things might change when Multiverse comes out!
'Multiple PvP Factions' by sifo Submitted on 2007-01-29 08:07:09 CST You made a brief mention of PvP MMOs that have more than two factions. My current fav game, EQ2, added a third PvP faction back in June with the Exiles and the city of Haven. Exiles are attackable by anyone... even other exiles. Some players don't like it but I think it is good for the game. Definitely adds some spice.
'EVE N00b Experience' by Floss Submitted on 2007-01-29 10:00:49 CST Brent, out did yourself this time! Great way to mark 50 casts.
As usual enjoyed the Brent/Brendan dynamic, it makes the cast seem more alive, rather than just like a newsreader on the TV reading from an autocue.
Excellent EVE review from your good lady, and, yes the outcome was a bit surprising.
EVE is VERY deep indeed, with a fair bit of the game infrastructure, and the market being player controlled it does make for some mind boggling game play at times. EVE is definitely not an MMO you can just jump into and play for 2 months and say "Been there done that".
Have to agree with Kami, hehehe, very nice Beavis and Butthead routine you and Jenny have going there.
Keep up the good work
'Go 3Kingdoms!' by Maess Submitted on 2007-01-29 17:31:32 CST Who killed Barney? I did. Repeatedly...
'autocue' by Brent Submitted on 2007-01-29 19:05:56 CST I do not read from an autocue! Hehehheh....
'Great job' by Golconda Submitted on 2007-01-30 02:31:17 CST Hey again Brent, excellent job again. I have to admit I am also very surprised by the review from your beloved wife. It is really good banter indeed. And Brendan as always is great... :)
