'Great reviews!' by Lucifus Submitted on 2006-08-24 08:30:25 CST Awesome reviews, very informative, I discovered a couple podcasts and now know to stay away from a few.
Thanks fellas, Hopefully you don't get too much hatemail
'I'll read it' by Brent Submitted on 2006-08-24 08:32:42 CST If we get hate mail I'll read it all on the next show for your enjoyment. Thanks for checking it out Lucifus. Was a marathon wasn't it?
'LOL!' by Lucifus Submitted on 2006-08-24 08:41:13 CST Wow, something i'll definately look forward to hearing if you do indeed get it.
As to the legnth of the show, I enjoy longer shows since I listen to them at work.
'Good show' by ImDrFreak Submitted on 2006-08-25 13:27:59 CST Great show. I subscribed to a few new podcasts due to it. The exception being VGN radio, which doesn't seem to have any easy way of listening to their show, other than downloading it like a regular file. No way to automatically put it on my ipod. Look forward to some of the others, and of course to the next VirginWorlds.
'VGN Radio' by Bman Submitted on 2006-08-25 14:07:52 CST The RSS link for VGN is:

You can find it on the right hand column of their site, in the "Radio Show" section, labeled "Podcast RSS Feed".
'more podcasts' by Brent Submitted on 2006-08-25 15:15:02 CST Now that we ran the list I have many emails telling me we left some out. There are some that we simply left off the list and some that were not worth discussing.
Also, we recorded a half-hour about MMO podcasts that have faded. Some of that was interesting, but the show was getting real long and that section amounted to a history lesson.
There are some that are indeed new to me and they have now found their way onto my iPod and will certainly be included next time.
'Comments' by jdun Submitted on 2006-08-28 02:23:18 CST You guys sure love punishment. I just wants to comments on E3 and your show.
While E3 cost might be a factor on why they cancel the show. I don't think it is the overriding issue. Cost can be control by going to another city and for companies to spend less on the show production. What I think was the main problem is the almost uncontrollable information that is coming out of the show. This year it was PS3 getting hit with the sledgehammer. With all the fan site destroying it before the first official press release it make E3.
To me gaming journalism is not real journalism. They are more in line as sell person of the game. With E3 bring more fans in, it is no wonder they fear it. Gaming enthusiast tell it like it is. If it is a bad game they will said it without any regrets. If it is the best game they ever play they will give money for other people to buy it. Gaming journalism doesn't do that.
I would like to see a real gaming convention in the model of an anime convention. Where fans and developers talk to each other head on. Where there is an open market of freely available information for ever fan to judge. A real convention run by fans for fans. The new E3 is just companies giving their sell person (gaming reporters) their marching orders by the market department.
I like to make a suggestion on your show. Get a female co-host on your show when Brenden is not available or with him. A female perspective on MMOG is much needed in the podcast world. I am not sure it has been done before.
'find me one' by Brent Submitted on 2006-08-28 08:39:00 CST Well, people have told me that I train mobs like a girl, so I'm not sure we need one. The problem is in the finding, jdun. Maybe I can get Amanda Congdon and we can turn it into a video podcast. Now there's an idea. There are females in the MMOG podcast world: Alachia (WoWCast), Kirnkaterre (Taverncast), Renata (World of Warcast), and Lady Sinaea (Guild Cast) were all discussed in this very podcast.
I'm not sure where you're going with the E3 thing and can't even recall talking about it in this podcast, but thanks for expressing yourself.
I'm not sure what you mean by "You guys sure love punishment".
'WoW' by Chriasas Submitted on 2006-08-28 16:46:33 CST Good Podcast. I'll have plenty of new podcasts to listen to at work. One comment...Did a Taverncast member run over Brendan's puppy or something!?!? His venom was way out of proportion(the only beep of the podcast) to the other negative reviews in the podcast, even. Otherwise, it was a show worth looking listening to.
'two beeps!' by Brent Submitted on 2006-08-28 20:30:55 CST We 'beeped' during the Game/On segment too, and probably could have really went nuts there if we wanted to. I forget where the other was, but I guess you're saying it was in the TC section.
Been catching some hell over the TC review. They finally put out a new show today and while it was well put together and I laughed a few times, I find it to be too scattered for my liking. It is one of those situations for me where I appreciate the production and I like the people alright, but the content is not unlike eavesdropping on a 12 year old's slumber party.
I wish they would just relax and control themselves slightly when recording the show. Spontaenous fun is great, but when it starts to get old, its old and needs to be either edited out or not recorded in the first place.
This is turning into a whole review. Heheh.
Anyway, thanks for checking it out and thanks for posting your thoughts.
'Thanks for the Decent Podpast' by scho Submitted on 2006-08-31 14:54:30 CST This was a great idea to instigate and there's certainly been a fair few podcasts added to my iPod as a result.
I agreed with most of your comments, especially on EQ2 Daily, which is a great example of how an MMO specific podcast should be carried out. I just wish it was more frequent. Moreover I'm glad it's not only me who can't tell Rot and Val apart !
For Game On I think you were overly harsh. It's not the worst example out there and would say it's unadventurous and not inspiring but certainly not the worst out there. I prefer that to puerile men ranting and 'whinging' on air with no decent constructive comments to make. Still each pet hate to our own!
Keep it up guys. Virginworlds is one of those I listen to without fail now.

'GameOn' by Brent Submitted on 2006-09-01 20:09:39 CST Simon - I've considered your comments and realized now after thinking about it that I didn't really touch on what bothers me most about the GameOn podcast. It has to do with subtle details in the things they say that frustrate me. Lack of clear knowledge or care top the list of offenses and are repeated show after show. I didn't get into specific details on the show nor will I hear, but in short, I have reasons that have to do with the content and the way it is presented. And you're right it is something of "pet hate'. Thanks for listening and thanks for the comments.
'Hate Mail' by phatloot Submitted on 2006-09-02 12:49:51 CST So I noticed our subscriber numbers at PwnageBrothers bounce up a bit and I wonder what's goin on. Then a new fan sends us a note and says he heard about our show on virginworlds podcast. Wha?
So I wake up my lazy ass brother Leet, and we come to the website, and stare at the screen with our mouths hanging open. So much content... and the professional sheen... and no google ads! A couple of clicks later we are listening to the mammoth episode 26 and we are hooked. Awesome production AND incredible content. LOTS of content. And then we notice that there is a new show every few days! (not weeks, like our podcast) How can anyone have the time to sift through all this information, produce a high quality podcast full of info and insight, and even game once in a while.
Then it hit us. The lottery. You bastards have won the lottery and now are living our dream. We hate you. (And thanks for mentioning our show)
'awesome' by Brent Submitted on 2006-09-02 20:45:08 CST Welcome to the site guys. I'm overjoyed to hear your comments, they are appreciated.
Lottery. Hmm, not yet, still aiming for that though. I'm just a stubborn bastard and I couldnt' tell you what Brenden's excuse for participating is since he has his hands rather full with falcontwin.com. Somehow it manages to get done. News every day, podcasts on weekends, and a little blogging when I find the inspiration. Oh yeah, and some gaming late at night and sometimes early in the morning. Since the podcast started I have found myself up still up at 3AM and off to work at 8AM more times that I can believe, but somehow I'm still surviving. Add on the one year old daughter and you could say it has been a hell of a weird year.
I'll shoot you guys a mail sometime soon. Thanks for dropping by!

I tend to get some good blocks of time in on the weekends and I keep some games running in the background all the time even if I'm only half playing them. Lately, Eve Online is my idling game. Eve is good for that since travel times are automated and long.
