Darren rolls out the MMO news for the week, like a boss.
'Background Sound' by MrGutts Submitted on 2009-06-30 14:35:02 CST Can you increase the background sound just a tad bit more. Maybe I am just being picky.
'My opinion' by mchris Submitted on 2009-06-30 22:26:10 CST This is Darren at his best: No forced jokes or morning television stylee "welcome to the show" rubbish, just Darren giving us the news straight up. I lke the focus on news over opinion, like an early Brent. Good job all round.
I have to disagree with your views on Australia limiting the sale of certain games. I know it seems at odds with American and Western ideals of freedom etc., but the Australians elected their officials just like we did. They are just going a different route and I think "fail" is a harsh term for what is debatable a form of protection society.
What I'm playing apart from MMOs:
Desparate for a new MMO, I'm playing D&D tabletop. Never been a fan but I thought I'd give it a go after Penny Arcade guys have been podcasting it with Wil Wheaton et. al.
Hope you can keep these up Darren. Very well done.
'Superb' by Julie Submitted on 2009-06-30 23:18:27 CST Darren does a supurb job as he always does...thanks for taking the reigns of the podcast - after all, I'm not just a podcaster, I'm a client. This has always been my favorite podcast. (o.k. maybe except for my own).
What am I playing other than mmos?
Fallout 3...its a game and I can mod it to be how I want. It's kind of like having sims 3 with a really bad attitude that shoots back.
'Other games' by Andrew Submitted on 2009-07-02 13:54:22 CST Games that aren't MMOs that I'm playing:
Half Life 2 (PC)
Dragon Quest V (DS)
Secret of Mana (Wii VC)
I'm going to try the Trine demo soon, because it sounds excellent.
'Yes very good' by Token Submitted on 2009-07-02 14:50:23 CST Darren's other show has never been to my taste but he's good here, possibly for the reasons mchris described.
'Oh yes' by Token Submitted on 2009-07-02 14:53:52 CST I know there are plenty of people out there who want addictive game play in a geeky setting, without the MMO grind. I can't recommend 'Mount & Blade' enough. Multi player is on it's way in an expansion and there is a huge modding community, someone needs to talk about this game on a podcast.
'I'm gaming!' by Akely Submitted on 2009-07-02 15:56:51 CST With the old tabletop gang I'm (still) playing Powers & Perils.
Playing Burnout on the XBOX 360. I've joined the Console Club guys on two occasions and must say there extremely kind guys. They've not yelled at my ineptitude a single time. I've considered getting NHL 09... anyone know if it is any good?
On the PC there's a little Sim City 4, a little Bioshock, a little Grand Prix World and way to little EQ2. Ok, that last one is an MMO.
'Let me count the ways...' by MassivelyMax Submitted on 2009-07-16 00:26:17 CST Oh Brent, where art thou?
I love Darren and his other show, I really do, but I want Brent back doing what he does best; or some variation thereof.
'Credits' by BrianI Submitted on 2009-07-25 10:56:19 CST Hi Brent,
I find your podcast worthwhile listening to. However, could you please credit the news sources you reference in your news section?
1) It is good form to give credit to sources you use.
2) Your listeners can go and check out the story in greater detail if they are interested.

'I'm playing...' by ReijMan Submitted on 2009-07-29 15:41:15 CST Playing...
Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery, still not sure if i like this better then 1701AD which had multiplayer available. But it is stunningly beautiful... and the game-play is straight on perfect.
OpenTTD, Transport tycoon, first boxed pc-game I owned, redone by a very active open source community. It features Multiplayer, thousands of tweaks and additions, platform independance, its brilliant!
Dungeon Siege II Broken World, Started a new Dungeon Siege 2 campain over LAN with a friend of mine, currently paused since we cannt work out how we can continue over the internet... since he lives 3hours from here. (hamachi and battle.lan don't work..)
Demigod, got a few friends to buy the game, and we're compstomping like total n00bs, but we're having fun!
LOTRO, also very active in LOTRO, have my own kinship on European evernight server leveling my alts a bit as i'm tired doing the radiance stuf.. (got 2 and a half toon kitted out..)
Istaria: Chronicles of the Gifted, new big expansion and high-level dungeon just came out in this 6 year old MMO. Teaming up with some old guild friends to start slaying baddies in there.
Sacred 2 - Fallen Angel, This game needs some more exposure, it can really keep us gamers going up to DiabloIII is released, I wonder if they experience publishing problems...Good fun though, if you like hack and slash and eye-candy (and who doensnt?!) Only problem is that the mobs around you scale up in level with you a bit to much imho..
The Witcher EE, still haven't finished this wonderfull game...

'What happened to VirginWorlds?' by ImDrFreak Submitted on 2009-11-16 16:28:58 CST Do we have a podfade?

'news' by Token Submitted on 2009-11-16 21:53:22 CST I think he's bored of delivering MMO news, which is a shame because nobody does it better cue the music.
'Still dreaming of the day that Brent returns' by Shalimar616 Submitted on 2010-02-05 12:43:32 CST I am still dreaming of the day that Brent returns to the Mic and the world seems so much more focused on MMO games -- those early years of the virginworlds network was pure Camelot at its best.
