- CCP thinks virtual currency sellers are big meanies - Crime doesn't pay, but damned if it ain't attractive - CoHPodcast.com drops in a comment (visit them!) - Random words strung together regarding Warhammer 40K - MMOGChart data is sorta depressing
'Crime Craft?' by ScytheNoire Submitted on 2008-04-10 05:27:05 CST You mentioned it in the podcast, and went to the site which just has coming soon, but wondering where you saw the screenshots. Saw an old video on YouTube, but the quality on there is crap (as it all YouTube quality).
Also, while I'm happy to see Warhammer Online coming, and I like that IP, I love Warhammer 40K IP a million times more, it's just so much better. So I'm so disappointed already that THQ is involved, since I think Mythic, or any one else, could have done a better job with Warhammer 40K. When has THQ made anything good? Such a waste of a great IP.
Well, at last CCP is doing World of Darkness, so I guess I have that to look foward to in a few years.
'MMOG Chart' by Wilhelm2451 Submitted on 2008-04-10 15:28:41 CST The 200K + chart shows all games that EVER had 200K or more subs. So there are a number of games on there that no long have that many subs.
If you look at the 70-700K chart, you can see UO on the list last reporting in with about 75K subs.
'THQ?' by StErroneous Submitted on 2008-04-10 19:22:02 CST @ScytheNoir: Erm, THQ/Relic produce the 40K Dawn of War franchise. It has its faults, but it's popular and they seem to have a good working relationship with the GW mothership.
'I just don't like THQ' by ScytheNoire Submitted on 2008-04-11 04:27:03 CST I just put THQ up there with EA on the hate list of big gaming corporations that don't do it right. I misspoke about THQ not making anything good, because Company of Heroes is one of the best games ever made, and the Warhammer 40K RTS is quite good, if graphically outdated. So I was just being harsh. I'm not a fan of THQ though, as their history isn't that great when treating gamers right, and some of their franchises. Just hope they don't mess it up.
'Dev sanctioned RMT' by Floss Submitted on 2008-04-12 11:38:32 CST Had to titter when I heard the section about CCP jumping on the RMT is baaad bandwagon. As a long time EVE player, it's been possible to buy GTC's for a long time then flog them for ingame ISK for donkey's years. CCP realised this and did institute a method of more secure transactions between players and fair play to them for doing that. But it not being RMT? The only difference is that it's DEV SANCTIONED RMT!
And Brent? Big thanks for the help with my download problem. Cache cleaning did the trick. You're the top banana!
