After all is said and done I'll now be able to make one claim to nerd fame. The SOE EverQuest-themed card game, Legends of Norrath, has seen fit to include my likeness in the card set for the upcoming expansion entitled "Forsworn". I didn't know that would be the name of the expansion at the time, but apparently, I picked a decent card as it is a good card and it is a namesake of the expansion. I shall appear as the Forsworn Crusader seen here. For people that know me IRL, it probably isn't immediately apparent, which is fine. The artist responsible for the card, Kieran Yanner, has never laid eyes on me in the flesh, but he rendered the image faithfully from the reference photo seen here.  Many thanks to Em Stock and SOE for this opportunity to boost my nerd cred. It is a thrill of the most geeky kind and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Please be sure to vanquish your foes with this card. Keep an eye out for more cards based on real people. SOE will be including ten cards based on bloggers, podcasters, players and community leaders in this upcoming set of cards. I can't wait to see some friends rendered as LoN heroes. |

A huge boost to nerd cred! Nice work on the card too. I'd make that the back side of my business card if I were you... and I didn't care about getting any customers.
Now if a "Guard Brent" shows up in Norrath some day, you will hit nerd star status.

I had very specific instructions regarding what they wanted for this. The only thing they didn't say was how to shoot the picture from an angle or pose standpoint - otherwise they were pretty specific about mood, props that might be included, etc. However I think Ardwulf is just giving me hell here...
