"The World of Warcraft development team has confirmed that BlizzCon attendees will be able to go hands-on with a playable sneak peek of the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion."
Rumors are flying around the internet about new races and enhanced levels, but thus far, Blizzard is keeping their helms on about the new expansion, at least until BlizzCon is upon us.
The expansion is apparently named Burning Crusade according to Italian game magazine Game Machine. Mysterious screen shots were uncovered which show a new race and their home city. Blood Elves is the most recent rumor, however nothing is certain.
A year ago, Blizzard indicated that it intended to include something called "Hero Classes" at some point after release. No one seems to know what that means, but the forums are clear...everyone wants Hero Classes, not more levels. For the record, I think WoW is a great great game. The only issue I have with it is that it is too easy to level. Every yahoo and his half-wit brother has a handful of level 60 characters. Remember how hard it was to get level 60, 65, 70 in EQ? Sure, it was painful, maybe a bit too painful, but when you got there, it was indeed an accomplishment. I can only hope the trip from 60-70 is a bit more challenging in WoW. That being said, Hero Classes/Levels, if they require some sort of quest or accomplishment other than grinding mobs, seem to be a good idea.
